At Wet Noses Organic Dog Treat Company, the Food Production Operator will produce various food ingredients, using "Good Manufacturing Practices", following standardized formulas for weighing, measuring, and mixing, raw materials. Set up, and control processes, i.e. blending, grinding, drying, and completes all proper documentation. Primary responsibilities include meeting daily/weekly Food Production needs required to satisfy orders while maintaining high quality standards.  The Food Production Operator is also responsible for planning and assigning work, implementing applicable policies and procedures, increasing line workers' skills and abilities through training, and recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES  

To perform the job of Food Production Operator successfully; an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 

  • Knowledge of all Food Duty Operations: Slicing, Butchering, Grinding, Dehydrating, Packaging, and Sanitation.
  • Balance quality, productivity, cost, and safety to achieve positive results in all areas. Work tocontinuously improve in all areas.
  • Ensure waste levels are minimized to achieve area targets.
  • Ensure and maintain the quality of products being produced by inspecting output and making adjustments as needed.
  • Work effectively with other team members to achieve objectives.
  • Maintain a proper and clean working environment.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations and on safe work habits.
  • Follow all HACCP and SQF protocols are being followed at all times.
  • Report any incidents or injuries to your manager as soon as reasonably possible, not to exceed 48 hours after the incident.
  • Monitor all lot codes as ingredients are used.
  • Review daily work food production orders.
  • Maintain a regularly scheduled workweek to keep overtime at a minimum.
  • Learn the operation, adjustment, and minor repairs of all baking equipment. Know emergency procedures in the event of an equipment failure.
  • Report food safety and quality problems to manager with authority to initiate action.
  • Participates in the training of new operators.
  • Take ownership of your own training program with the assistance of the manager.
