At Wet Noses Natural Dog Treat Company, the key responsibility for the Director of Sales and Marketing is to plan and implement sales, marketing and product development programs, both short and long range, targeted toward existing and new markets.  Other responsibilities include market research and planning, strategic direction for promotion and advertising, and directing the day-to-day activities of sales and marketing staff. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES  

To perform the job of Director of Sales and Marketing successfully; an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Other duties may be assigned;

 

  • Support the company to meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue objectives.
  • Maximize global sales and margin revenue stream to Wet Noses, Inc.
  • Develop and implement strategic marketing plans, sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services.
  • Develop and manage sales and marketing operating budgets.
  • Plan and oversee advertising and promotion activities including, but not limited to, print, online, electronic media, and direct mail.
  • Develop and recommend product positioning, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
  • Achieve satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to Wet Noses standards and industry and economic trends.
  • Ensure effective control of marketing results, and take action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets.
  • Oversee and evaluate market research and adjust marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
  • Oversee preparation of marketing activity reports and present to executive management.
  • Prepare sales reports monthly, quarterly and annually showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  • Identify consumer insights to better deliver overall business objectives and strategies.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.
  • Ensure cost effective use of resources while maintaining quality and consistency of brand image.
  • Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly.
  • Direct market channel development activity and coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
  • Represent Wet Noses with sales team at trade shows and other events to promote product.
  • Market our vision to educate new and existing customers to better communicate to the end users on all of Wet Noses, Inc.'s products' features and benefits along with programs.
  • Meet with key clients, assist sales representatives with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
  • Analyze and control expenditures of Sales department to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Review and analyze sales performances against programs to determine effectiveness.
  • Direct implementation and execution of sales policies and practices.
  • Recommend sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analyses.
  • Manage multiple channel selling strategies and implement approved distribution strategies.
  • Provide leadership to the day-to-day operations of the sales department, while maintaining focus on the company's strategic goals. 
  • Develop a strategic sales and marketing plan for Wet Noses in partnership with the Executive Team.
  • Coordinate sales operations with all other departments/divisions of the Company, such as Operations and Production.
  • Develop, maintain and improve business relations with all Wet Noses customers.
  • Target new customers and new sales opportunities, develop and implement action plans to approach and secure new business for the Company.
  • Travel for Industry Shows, Conferences, Customer Meetings and/or Training is required.
  • Covering for the absence of key personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience developing and managing strategic marketing and sales plans with consumer goods.
  • This qualified applicant must be able to relocate and work out of our Monroe Washington Corporate Office Monday thru Friday
