Job Description Summary

We are seeking a passionate Sr. Plant Human Resource Manager to join the Wet Noses leadership team. As the individual overseeing the recruitment and development of Wet Noses people and culture, the Sr. Plant Human Resource Manager will be a key player in helping Wet Noses reach its next stage of growth.

The ideal Sr. Plant Human Resource Manager candidate will be comfortable working with both an hourly and salaried workforce and will have experience managing HR for an organization with at least 100 employees. They will be comfortable building organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes that contribute to driving business objectives. This individual will drive and seek to improve all areas related to human resources, including but not limited to, training, benefits, career development, staffing initiatives, employee relations, workplace ethics and performance management, and culture management. Lastly, this person will serve as an employee advocate, support employee relations and communications while ensuring compliance with all legal, regulatory, and corporate requirements. The position will require activities outside of normal office hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a best-in-class strategy for recruiting, onboarding, and retention, minimizing open roles at any given time.
  • Lead recruitment process across all departments (writing and managing job postings, screening resumes, conducting interviews as needed, and evaluating candidates for hire).
  • Develop and oversee compensation, payroll, and benefits administration.
  • Ensure human resource and development deliverables support company vision.
  • Collaborate with Leadership Team Executives to set human resources strategic direction and operational plans.
  • Lead development and implementation of culture improvement plans and employee engagement tactics.
  • Manage internal staff relations, mediating employee disagreements and concerns as needed.
  • Conduct orientation programs.
  • Process all new hire paperwork, which includes E-Verify and background checks.
  • Manage, develop, and coordinate all employee events and activities of the company.
  • Ensure company compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement value-added employee benefit programs.
  • Maintain payroll garnishments, including responding to agencies and completing required documents.
  • Lead L & I claim management, including return to work programs and modified work assignments.
  • Research, Implement and Maintain human resource operating procedures and required office administrative systems.
  • Continuously seek to update, improve, and evolve Human Resources and Company policies and procedures.
  • Set schedule for and ensure compliance with career development, reviews, and other HR activities throughout the year.
  • Implement effective processes and procedures for candidate screening and selection.
  • Facilitate the development of essential training programs throughout the company.
  • Manage annual review process, partnering with Leadership Team to determine annual compensation decisions, promotions, and all other human resource decisions.
  • Ensure all company health and safety policies and procedures are up to date.
  • Continuously advance human resource employee handbooks, training, and guidelines.
  • Develop employee feedback tracking studies, communicating qualitative and quantitative results.
  • Ensure filing systems of all personnel files and records are maintained and current.
  • Certify security and confidentiality of all employee personal data and information.
  • Analyze all human resource and development records, policies, and procedures to bring current.
  • Maintain time and attendance systems.
  • Process payroll on a Biweekly basis.
  • Continuously update Wet Noses Org Chart
  • Occasionally cover for the absence of key personnel

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree and/or a minimum of 5 years' in a fast-paced business environment.
  • PHR Certification
  • Experience developing human resource programs in a highly productive environment.
  • Knowledge of applicable state, federal, local employment/labor laws and regulations.
  • Professional demeanour in all settings and forums.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team-oriented approach.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Creativity and vision to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment.
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills with customers and internal teams.
  • High degree of personal integrity and professionalism with solid business acumen.
  • Excellent relationship building skills with ability to build meaningful business partnerships.
  • Persistent and dependable, especially with attendance, deliverables, and deadlines.
  • Able to manage multiple competing priorities and work effectively against hard deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks products and suites.
  • Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment; flexibility to work extended hours.
  • Must have the ability to speak, write and read English.
  • Working knowledge and thorough understanding of Microsoft Word, Office, Excel, and Power Point etc

Work Environment:

This position operates in an office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; but can vary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
